I sit back and watch
The comfort of a deep armchair
takes the strain of the day
My eyes relax upon your soft frame
and you sit reading before me
a paperbacked book you bought
from a hard backed shop
Your eyes dart from left to right
right to left
scanning each line with a nose twitch
and occasional scratch
a nod of acknowledgement
and a murmer of recognition
greets my ears as you turn the page
Those pupils become heavy
with word and phrase
but you keep on with your quest
Who dun it?
The plot thickens
There are no spoilers
I can't tell you
what happens next
I don't want to give it away
but I've read between the lines

The background design for this blog is based on a 1962 Czeckoslovakian road map. I have a fascination with maps and layout of information. Maps present a frozen snapshot in time, much like a poem. Maps don't offer up directions, they show many routes we could take. The colours in this map and the tree like structures reminded me of Mondrian’s art.
