Sandals and knickers
and other nit pickers
live down leather lane
between the cameras and cobbles
we struggle and hobble
sight seeing art in the rain
Umbrellas and soft hats
Banksy's painted cat
Turn the place over
posing with penguins
stairods and thickskins
in the musty museam odour
Photographs reflect
Department derelict
marking moments in gallery doors
Chesterfield chairs
camera lens stares
at those Liverbirds searching the shores
I really like the rythym of this, and some of the words you use like nit pickers living down leather lane and also posing with penguins are quite evocative.
ReplyDeleteThanks Dolly. It's a poem I wrote about a great trip to Liverpool last year :)
