Like Tracy's, mine is unmade too
with yesterdays jumper pulled over its base
a mobile phone cable snaking across
hunting for a Samsung to mate with
or devour
no cigarette ends or pin-hole burnt knickers
used condoms or flickers of artistic genius
It doesn't entertain gallery visitors,
cynical historians or curators
It's not signed and
embroidered
with the weight of art history
The white, creased, stuffed duvet
won't answer directly
questions regarding which movement
it belongs to;
man-made or natural fibre
It offer up its warmest side
for visual tourists to photograph
but they are not impressed
with this second hand installation
"anyone could have done this" they say
as I'm stripping the sheets
for the wash
