Mid-Summer Dew

Words are too tensile to twist
when they are hung on the washing line
incite to insist
The wind at its leisure can take
for its pleasure
syllable and vowel
t-shirt and tea towel imbued
with mid-summer dew
A line keenly constructed
pegged out then abducted
by nothingness pushing
right through
and
you
used to
dash out in the rain
to save once again
my words from a sudden down pour

  1. Is the line abducted by the wind, is that what you meant? Either way I like this.
