We're chipped stones in the road
which other lovers walk upon
and the parking space we're owed
someone built a snowman on
when you wear your green coat
I hear the traffic sirens beside
its stranded seagul call
fear filling dark its eyes
Could it be that you were stood
on the other side of a hill
I couldn't climb
on the other edge of a loch
I couldn't swim
or at the end of something
I'm yet to begin
I used to stack up all my forgiven lies
until they reach the top bunk
then sometimes tried them on for size
but found that they had shrunk
I'm left pushing back the wire fence
we escaped through
when we skipped school
but this is another selfish act
which reminded me of you

Love the part about 'forgiven lies.'
